Decorating Ideas for Table Centerpieces in Glass Vases

Decorating Ideas for Table Centerpieces in Glass Vases

Glass vases of all shapes and sizes are a good place to start when you need a centerpiece. Consider the season, holiday or theme of the event when planning centerpieces. The good thing about glass vases is that they are a good investment because they can be pulled out and filled with different items, allowing you to use them over and over again. Does this Spark an idea?

Candy

Fill glass vases of all sizes with colored candies. Use candies that are the same color for an elegant, monochromatic look or multicolored candies for a more festive look. Some ideas for candies include jelly beans, M & M's, gummy bears, lollipops, conversation hearts or peppermints. Tie coordinating bows around the middle portion of the vases to accent the centerpiece.

Ornaments

A joyous holiday centerpiece includes glass vases filled with ornaments. The round, shiny balls look great in the vases, or you could use other types of ornaments such as angels or snowflakes. Fill vases with the ornaments and set them on top of a silver platter for extra sparkle. This looks pretty with all silver ornaments for an elegant dinner centerpiece for a holiday meal.

Fruit

Fruits, either sliced or whole, look fresh and inviting when placed in a glass vase or container. Fill the vase with water and float sliced oranges, limes and lemons in the vase for a citrus-themed centerpiece, or fill a vase with ripe red apples and cinnamon sticks for a more fall-themed decoration. Float apples in a vase half full of water for a fun Halloween decoration, or fill several vases with different fruits, such as strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, for a summer centerpiece.

Floating Candles

A floating candle centerpiece works for just about any occasion. Fill a glass vase with water, leaving an inch of space at the top. Add food coloring or glitter to the water for a visually interesting centerpiece, or add some glass marbles to the vase. Float tea light candles on top and surround the whole centerpiece with confetti or smaller votive candles for a warm glow at the table.
