Use a rectangular-shaped, clear glass vase for a centerpiece. Fill the vase with glass beads or marbles in colors that complement the decor of your home or the event. Pour water into the vase and place a simple, yet stunning large clutch of the same type of flower in the same color in the vase -- an arrangement of roses, calla lilies or daisies, for example.

Once set in place, ground the candle by surrounding the base of it with items that also complement the decor.
