Simple Table Decorations to Make

You do not need an upcoming party to want to decorate your tables. But if you do have a party coming up, you will want some simple and quick ideas you can use to make table decorations. Sometimes ideas start off as simple and then transform into grand projects with spectacular results. The best part about doing simple table decorations is that you have the option to decide whether or not you want to make them into a grand project. Does this Spark an idea?

Flowers

Using flowers as the basis for table decorations is a good example of projects that can start off simple and then balloon into larger projects. Using basic ceramic or glass vases and small bouquets of flowers, you can create beautiful table decorations. Try to choose a flower color that will offset the color of the vase. For example, if you are decorating for Independence Day, you can put red and white flowers in a blue vase. Decorate the vase with paints or tie colorful ribbons around them. Place the vase on a small circular mirror to add a depth effect. There are many options when you decorate your table with flowers.

Candles

Using candles is always an easy way to decorate tables, and if you choose some creative options you can maximize the effect. Use a series of white candles that are the same width but different heights strategically arranged on a mirror. The arrangement is up to you. You may want to arrange candles in rows of different heights in ascending order, or you can make all of the candles in a row the same height and stagger the row heights. Get some small drinking glasses with no design on them, put a little water in the bottom, and float a tea light candle in the glass. When it is lit up, it looks very unique. Use a series of these candle effects to create a glowing centerpiece. In some cases, you can use different colored candles together in one display and never have to light them to get an artistic effect.

Food

Food can be used to make some of the simplest table decorations around. For a fall table design you can put some small pumpkins around a larger pumpkin as a centerpiece. Place a candle on the top of the stem of the larger pumpkin for effect. During the summer you can decorate the table with clear glasses filled with colorful fruit cocktail, and then serve the table decorations when dinner is over.
